Recently, JHI representatives were invited to consult with some of the nation’s best and brightest in Melbourne as part of a Policy Hack. The Commonwealth Department of Social Services, was looking for experts in a range of fields to assist in identifying innovative solutions to long term welfare dependence in a range of target groups. What does that mean in English? JHI traveled from the Hastings to meet with leaders drawn from across Australia to think up ways to help young Australians.
It was a privilege and a recognition of the skills of our local experts. During the course of the day, appointed mentors and leaders looked out for and voted for ‘Hero of the day’ awards. The JHI Manager was awarded one of these awards, in recognition for being a leader amongst leaders, through emphasizing and articulating the needs of the priority group clearly. JHI – Hasting locals, being recognized as the local experts on a national stage. It was a good day.
